The Sick Days We Don't Talk About

We talk about sick days like they're only for when your body breaks down. A fever, a cold, a stomach bug. But what about the days when your spirit is sick? When you're emotionally drained, mentally exhausted, or just... off?
Those days are real too. And many of us push through them. We show up, we clock in, we answer emails, we lead meetings... all while silently struggling inside.
And here’s the truth:
When you show up mentally sick, you can spread it like the flu. Negativity is contagious. Frustration is contagious. That "I hate it here" energy? It fills the room, whether you speak it or not.
It changes how you answer the phone. How you respond to a coworker. How you treat a client.
And just like that, your one rough day has now infected an entire team.
But here’s the thing — we don’t need permission to take care of ourselves. We need life balance, clear priorities, and the ability to say: "Today, I need a timeout."
Not because you're weak. But because you're wise.
Reset. Recharge. Rejuvenate.
From the Founder
This blog is part of our new 3-Day Timeout series. As a leader, I believe in protecting people—not just their productivity. If you need a moment to reset your mind, recharge your body, or rejuvenate your spirit, take it. We're building a culture where self-awareness isn't
punished—it's practiced.
With care,
